ITI ♥ MOTION BANK is a cooperation developed and implemented in collaboration with the Motion Bank team as part of the program "Kulturerbe Tanz". Part of the project is an artistic residency at STUDIO2 for dance artists who are already familiar with video annotation tools such as Motion Bank's Post Annotator. This enables open-ended artistic research on a self-chosen topic, which includes the examination, use and evaluation of the Post Annotator system.

In addition, the Post Annotator Tool will be implemented experimentally in the interface of the Mediathek for Dance and Theater to enable users of the Mediathek to use in-video annotation in their own research.

Motion Bank's interdisciplinary research focuses on the fundamentals of digital dance research, the digital documentation of dance and the use of digital technologies in dance practice. For its research work, Motion Bank cooperates with numerous partners from the performing arts, higher education in dance, archives and other research and cultural institutions.

The project continues the ITI's exploration of digital methods in archival practice.

The "Kulturerbe Tanz" program is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. It is carried by the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland.
