How do we navigate misunderstandings and conflict? The last session focuses on the practice of working through conflict. While conflict looks different across cultures, how it is resolved is also different. It is even different in the case of international partnerships. Our panellists will be challenged to offer their perspectives on ways to navigate conflict in intra- and international partnerships.

About the panelists:
Samba Yonga is an award-winning journalist, communications specialist and cultural curator based in Lusaka, Zambia. She is co-founder of the Women’s History Museum of Zambia, established in 2017 with the mandate to research and restore African indigenous narratives, knowledge and 'living histories' focused on women. Samba is also founder and managing partner of Ku-Atenga Media, a firm specialised in designing strategic communications for African landscapes and beyond. She is a Google Podcast Creator, TEDx Lusaka speaker, a Museum Lab Fellow 2022 and a Yale Director’s Forum Africa Fellow 2024.
CJ Ochoco is a Guam-raised theatre creative currently based between Nashville and Guam. CJ likes wearing many hats - from stage management to producing, arts administration, playwriting, and even bass playing. CJ has been involved with various arts organizations such as the University of Guam Theatre, the Guam International Film Festival or the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. CJ serves as the President and primary Producer for Breaking Wave Theatre Company. She believes in the healing power of the arts and aims to create and elevate diverse storytelling, on and off stage. She graduated in Fine Arts: Theatre from the University of Guam (2016) and in Leadership and Cultural Management from Colorado State University (2019).
Lloyd Nyikadzino is a multi-award winning theatre professional, arts manager, educator, and columnist. from Zimbabwe who works locally and internationally. He is a graduate of the University of Zimbabwe and the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, a fellow at the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, Theatertreffen, Magnet Theatre, and The Lab at Georgetown University. He is also the Executive director for the Zimbabwe Theatre Academy Trust and the Mitambo International Theatre Festival. He has worked as a guest lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, at Midlands State University and at Ecole De Sables in Senegal.
PARTNERS IN OR OFF THE SHIP? is a series of dialogues on the ethics of international cooperation and partnership in the performing arts curated by The Network of Emerging Arts Professionals (NEAP, ITI Worldwide), the ITI Academy (ITI Germany) and the Centre for Socially Engaged Theatre (C-SET). It will bring together international practitioners, experts, emerging artists and art professionals to share and exchange experiences and knowledge in working against inequitable systems and structures.
